Erica was born in Southern California and moved up to Seattle Washington to be closer to family. She originally studied animation at Savannah College of Art and Design. However, she had always loved watercolor painting and missed the process of working with physical materials, so she decided to pursue a career as a painter after graduating. Erica specializes in botanical paintings and fell in love with the unique climate of the Pacific Northwest, and beautiful nature surrounding Seattle. Her first series of paintings was based on a trip to the Tropical Butterfly House at the Pacific Science Center. She has recently been working on paintings based on local gardens in spring as well as some beautiful views on Lake Washington.
